A Chrome extension (MIT, published on the Chrome Web Store) that turns a whole AI chat into one clean Markdown document. Compatible with ChatGPT. Long chats are virtualised by the host page — only the messages near the viewport exist in the DOM at any moment — so the extension walks the conversation as it scrolls, harvesting each message while it is mounted, then restores your original position.
Every turn is labelled by role, formatting is preserved rather than flattened, and images can be saved alongside the text as a self-contained folder. It reads only the page you already have open: no account access, no API keys, no servers, and no analytics — a CI gate asserts on every commit that the shipped code makes no network, storage, or telemetry calls. The clipboard and your Downloads folder are the only destinations.

01
Yours to keep
Your own conversations, in a format you can keep, search and version rather than one locked to a vendor.
02
Plain text out
The output is clean, readable Markdown: searchable, diffable, keepable.
Capabilities
Working now
- Converts exported conversations into readable Markdown
- Output is plain text: searchable, diffable, keepable
- Published for public use, not an internal-only script
Current autonomy level
Weakest link
Export formats change under the tool, and a format it has not seen produces a partial conversion rather than a refusal.
Roadmap to L1
- Fail loudly on an unrecognised export instead of converting part of it
- Track the export formats in use as they change
